Senior Improvements and Strategy Manager
Megan Westmeyer joined Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) in 2012 and currently serves as Senior Improvements and Strategy Manager. In this role, Megan leads the Mexican Seafood Supply Chain Roundtable and the US Gulf of Mexico Shrimp Supply Chain Roundtable, and oversees project implementation for all of SFP’s work in Mexico. Prior to this most recent role, she coordinated Texas, Louisiana, and Florida shrimp FIPs, which have since been transitioned to industry leadership, as well as the Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish FIP. Megan also coordinates development of high quality, actionable advice for the supply chain on fisheries around the world and played a key role in mapping the improvement strategy for many of the seafood sectors under SFP’s Target 75 Initiative. For eight years previous to joining the staff of SFP, she led the South Carolina Aquarium's Sustainable Seafood Initiative, an educational program for culinary professionals. Megan has a M.S. in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from Louisiana State University and a B.S. in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina. She is currently based in El Paso, TX.
